About meThe Storytelling Studio is owned by freelance journalist and content marketing writer Thessa Lageman.
I work from my coworking space in The Hague, at home in Scheveningen or sometimes at another location for clients in the Netherlands and elsewhere: communication and content marketing agencies, companies, international organisations and media. My articles and content appear in magazines, on websites and in other publications. In my collaborations I like clear communication, good agreements. planning ahead and a nice, preferably long-term cooperation. I have a large network of freelance content marketingwriters and journalists and I'm a recognised member of Tekstnet, the professional organisation of Dutch writers. That means I keep developing myself by regularly taking part in courses, workshops and an intervision group with colleagues. And if I'm not available, I can reccomend another writer from this (or another) network. I started my business in 2005, writing travel guidebooks for the Dutch publisher ANWB Media. Before that, I had finished the first year (Propedeuse degree) of Journalism and Communication at the Windesheim University of Applied in Zwolle and studied Arabic at Radboud University Nijmegen (Master degree cum laude). After having worked at embassies (the Dutch embassy in Kuwait and the Iraqi in The Hague), coordinator at Amnesty International and science editor at Erasmus University Rotterdam's Erasmus Magazine, I decided to work as fully independent/ freelance journalist and writer in 2014. Meanwhile I had obtained a postacademic journalism degree at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. I have worked as a correspondent in Tunisia for a few years after that for clients such as Al-Jazeera English, BBC and the ANP, the largest news agency in the Netherlands. |
